Where I Stand
I'm a public school teacher and a union member, not a career politician. Here's what I'll fight for in Albany.
Protect Workers. Strengthen Pensions.
- Finish fixing Tier 6. I’m Tier 6 myself. Teachers and public workers hired since 2012 earned the same retirement as the people beside them, and they should get it.
- Stand with our union and frontline city workers.
- Safe nurse staffing, so our hospitals keep the people who take care of us.
- More good, pension-backed jobs right here on Staten Island.
Lower Costs. Defend Homeowners.
- Fix the unfair property tax system that hits Staten Island homeowners.
- Fight for a Staten Island seat on the MTA Board. We pay into the MTA like every other borough, but we have no one on its board. We deserve a vote.
- Fight rising utility costs and car insurance premiums.
- Protect homeowners and renters from Albany's tax burden.
Safer Streets. Better Schools.
- Fix the dangerous intersections and the traffic we sit in every day.
- Fill the potholes, address the flooding, and fix the roads that have been ignored.
- Proper supervision on every school bus.
- Real support for families of students with special needs.
- Tougher penalties for animal cruelty, and keep convicted abusers from ever owning animals again.
Common sense over politics.
Being in the majority is how we bring resources, funding and attention back home. Staten Island is my home, and it's time we had a seat at the table, not a spot on the sidelines.
